Oh, heh.

I suddenly realize I've never introduced myself. Most like because I've always hated/been terrible at these introduction posts. What's there to say? I'm Brittany, or Megi (hehe, screennames). I'm much more open with my personal information than everyone here seems to be. I live in Louisiana, for the moment. I've also lived in Virginia and West Virginia, and a friend is plotting for us to move to Vancouver. Should be fun!

I'm 21, and not accomplishing anything in life right now, as I'm going through a divorce and am just...not feeling the school thing. I'm into all things art, I love to read and I love love love to sing. I came here from Tales of MU quite a while back, but really love the feeling of community here...

...and the fact that Mei is feeding my thing for twins. ~.^

So, hi!

Also, and sorry if no one really cares ^-^;, a short explanation of my SN: It started as Shinimegami (goddess of death in Japanese), and most of my friends shortened it to Megi or Meg, and I have a tendency to act catlike, so it became Neko(cat)Megi. ^_^

And ohman is it weird to see something written by me up on the "Newest First" page...since it is effectively my main page for this site.

You know, I would say welcome, but you've been here a lot longer than I have Smile Always nice to know a little more about the people behind the posts though. As a random question, what's your avatar from?

NekoMegi's picture

Petitioner

It's just a random Doctor Who av I think I found on LiveJournal somewhere.

I thought I was one of very few rednecks here - What part of Louisiana, are you in? I'm in Baton Rouge.

NekoMegi's picture

Everyone here has always called me a Yankee at heart. ~.^ I actually like the cold. But, dude, Baton Rouge, huh? I was just there a few days ago. I live in Ponchatoula (and, like...whoa, if you know where that is).

Yes, I do; I am not very familiar with the area, but I know where it is. Blum 3

And if you like the cold, you're probably not overly happy here. It's been a bit chilly these past few weeks (like summer a couple days last week, even), but that's only relative for us. I don't know if you were here, but it snowed in December! It was amazing. It was the 3rd highest snowfall on record for Baton Rouge - last time it was like that was either 1988 or 1989. Also, the only other time it's snowed in my lifetime was in 2003 when the LSU tigers won the Sugar Bowl.

It definitely made me think you were a boy. I also think it's hilarious that you took Japanese Death Goddess and turned it into an adowable name like NekoMegi. Welcome!

NekoMegi's picture

My love of David Tennant has made me look like a boy? Wait. *laughs* Well I suppose that does make it obvious I should get to working on finding a representative av, instead of a fangirl one.

And...thanks? *giggles*

Is that my user number? I didn't even know. I should have spoken up...much sooner. ^_^ Hiya!

You are really old! Man, you make me feel old, though. Hey, TheBoy, we need you to make us feel like younguns again! Make some comment about how the kids need to get off the forum lawn, or you'll beat us off with your cane!

Don't worry, even if some young whipper-snapper beats you in points, we'll still treat you like an old man.
Also, yes, feel free to make witty with whipper-snapper. I know you will, better than I.

I don't know how long you have lived here, but while you are in the state you should enjoy the Mardi Gras celebrations. We go rather crazy for our parades and balls, and it's definitely worth experiencing. My roommate's here for the academic year from Sweden - we already brought her to the Angola Prison Rodeo and we are bringing her down to New Orleans for the festivities this weekend and next week. Mardi Gras is next Tuesday (2-24), if you have time, I would definitely try to make some of the parades! Biggrin

I actually grew up here, and was in marching band in high school. Do you have any idea how many Metairie parades I've been in? XD But, yeah, Mardi Gras! I'm kind of excited, but I don't get to go to any balls, and that's what I really wanted to do. There's always next year, though.

You've gotta open wide, and suppress the gag reflex. Practice, practice, practice.

That's bad. Totally fitting for you, but bad none the less.

Practice with a toothbrush! Or a banana! (Make sure the banana isn't peeled, though, we almost lost someone that way!)

TheBoy's picture

four of my friends had a contest--who can fit the most of the banana in your mouth?

The lesbian (who wasn't out yet) won by alot--no gag reflex.
The straight boy (who reads to some as gay) placed second
and the two straight chicks lost. Profoundly.

kawaiikune's picture

That's pretty funny, and not really surprising. Gay guys know how much of a difference it makes, and if you have no gag reflex, you have to gag reflex. I'm surprised getting rid of the gag reflex isn't a priority for most girls, but it isn't. It's really not that hard (to do).

We had to give this kid the Heimlich one time because the banana broke off in his throat. He didn't have a gag reflex because he didn't have a throat. Most of his soft palate was removed for some reason or another.

TheBoy's picture

no peeling.
straight dude (with minimal sexual experience) was the runner-up. He's just a straight theater-type.

I got invited to a Metairie parade two weekends ago - Krewe of Caesar. It was their 30th year and the ball (held in New Orleans) was AMAZING!!! I got invited by a classmate of mine I hardly knew and I had never been to a ball before either. INCREDIBLE experience. That parade rolled this past weekend on Valentine's day, and unfortunately I didn't get to go, but you may have been there Blum 3

NekoMegi's picture

I was not there, actually, but you would have seen my sister and my cousin (though there would be no way for you to remember them), I do believe. I'm pretty sure Caesar is one of the ones that PHS marches.

eDreamer's picture

So it means "Harla" in Japanese?

Well, that or Izunami... Probably the latter, actually.

I'd say, "Welcome," except it looks like you joined nearly a year before I did. Wink

Harla! I hadn't even thought...neat.

Hiya!
