We all knew this time would come...

Well, I did at least. It just took me a while to getting around and posting and making and account and all that. So: "hi."

I've been reading for quite a while, don't remember exactly how long, probably from somewhere near the beginning of Book 2. I live in Canada, currently in the capital for school (one semester left thankfully) and I speak English and French plus a bit of German and Dutch and Japanese (the latter 3 very poorly). I study visual art, mainly painting but have also done quite a bit of photography and am slightly obsessed at times with wool. I'm in year 5 of my 4 year program and I hope to be in Japan in August for the JET Programme.

Anyway, I love the story and reading all the interesting forum topics and although I am introducing myself I have never been very good at keeping up with writing in forums. So I wouldn't expect to see much of me, but that's OK.

Anyway, I assume I have bored you all enough with my lovely introduction.

Is that to say that you frequently take photographs of wool? Wear it exclusively? Have shrines in your bedroom to the different varieties of sheep with little unwashed clumps of fresh-shorn wool? I mean, almost everyone calls their obsessions "slight" Wink

That's where I live. I have the equivalent of a good-sized flock's worth of wool in various states, from raw fleece to completed sweaters. I love wool. I'm not the OP, but I share the obsession.

haha
no, i do not photograph wool, i do crochet (and sometimes knit although i lack those skills) and i have recently started felting, mainly needle felting, which involves stabbing raw wool repeatedly with small barbed needles...

although your imagination of my obsession sounds quite lovely Smile

I wasn't familiar with needle felting but it looks kinda cool. I figured photographing wool was a legit question based on their proximity, but yeah, I realize my imagination was running a bit wild towards the end Smile

you can use those felting needles on dreadlocks, too. Just a little FYI Smile

i was actually thinking about that, it would be interesting to try felting human hair, although i think there were be a lot of people grossed out by it.

sadly my hair is not long enough to try it on
