You wanna see some Sedra? Well all right, then! Here's some Sedra! Alice is working on the color final right now, and I've sent her the description for Ellika. We'll be seeing Ellika with her "centerpiece hat."
If you want the investment we're making in artwork for the serial to continue--artwork that's resulted in better, more effective ads as well as some cool LJ icons, and Sedra will be added to both those categories--then throw me a buck. Just a buck is all you have to invest to get more story from me, and more art from Alice. Thanks for being here.

Perfect
She is lovely.

Brinnid is doomed . She looks like a very fun, smart gal! I *love* the eyebrow quirk that suggests a sarcastic/witty comeback always at the ready.
Wow
Sedra's been maybe my favorite character aside from the Teacher, and this is very close to what my mind came up with for her to look like. Very regal.
Something's wrong
I know she is supposed to be a little plainer and intellectual/reserved, but I still believe she should be prettier than this. It is possible there is a problem with the facial proportions or the way the nose is drawn.
I think she looks fine, but I
I think she looks fine, but I noticed her hairline/eyebrows were kind of "off," and maybe that's what you're picking up on? If a real person had her dimensions, the effect would be decidedly peculiar, since they'd not really have a forehead. Buuuut it's a tiny tweak, and I think it works for an artistic representation-- if we took everything and tried to make it real, most comics would be a flop because they've got such dinstinctly non-photographic styles.
FWIW, I like it even with the slightly wonky hairline. She looks a lot like a friend of mine, who certainly has sass in buckets.
It's the forehead for me too!
She looks good. and about right... except for her forehead. Sedra is intelligent and regal and I pictured her with a normal to higher brow and hairline. I feel like this lack of forehead is almost... neanderthal-like is what comes to mind. I can't stand it, actually. I am all for artistic representation, and I understand that Sedra is handsome and not dazzlingly beautiful, and this mostly fits the bill... but ugh, I can't reconcile the neanderthal forehead with my mentally intelligent Sedra. It just won't work.

The jawline is strong for a woman, and the nose is on the more prominent side. Not the stereotypical big-eyes-small-mouth princess. I like the full lips, and the quirked eyebrow too. I think her expression fits with what I've read of her personality.
<3 Sedra
Mmmm Sedra...
Well, everyone has seen how I drew her http://bluewingedcoyote.deviantart.com/art/Three-views-of-Sedra-95407851
and I fully intend on redrawing(and coloring the new pic!) her with a more-to-period outfit.
I quite like Alice's version, she captured her personality so well. And she is beautiful as well as strong. I'm glad she drew her strong! I utterly hate hate hate those damp insipid twit princesses or the style of art that insists all females must look like 11-year-olds with giant boobs( you know, all stick-skinny with no nose and giant creepy souless eyes). Can't wait to see it finished, and as soon as I get my stuff unpacked I'll start drawing(trust me... I've been totally dying of a month with no art!
Sedra...
I have to agree, this is the first drawing that I haven't (at least after a moment of examination) felt was spot-on.
Sedra should be strong-featured, agreed, but I feel like she looks to... thick.... here. Not mentally, but physically. Her jawline and her neck are overly large (maybe they wouldnt be with a different forehead, as said above).
I don't know. I don't want her to be a classic, doe-eyed female with wiry features, but I think I expected someone who is incontestably beautiful, just that her beauty is overshadowed by her regal posture/ mannerisms, etc...
(Bluewinged Coyote gave her a less than perfect nose and still I think hit more on what I was expecting...)
Still, the artist has been doing a fantastic job and far be it from me to complain because I certainly can't draw.
And to the (wonderful) author, your work is fantastic and should your update schedule fall to even less I would still be a loyal reader
You have it a bit backwards
It's Sedra's bearing and personality that make her more compelling than she would normally be physically. Sedra isn't plain, she's quite a handsome woman. But she is no raving Beauty.
Perhaps I put it poorly, but
Perhaps I put it poorly, but that's what I intended to say.
She is very pretty, but what people tend to see (and be attracted to more) is the woman that she is personality-wise.
Hence 'looks overshadowed by mannerisms.' poor choice of words I guess.
That said, not what I pictured but I'll still take it
Sedra is my favorite character
Glee! I look forward to the color version--I have a feeling it will work better. She looks older than I had expected, but thinking about it, it makes sense that she would look older than she is. She's certainly far wiser than most nineteen-year-olds.
funnily enough
after reading the other comments...Sedra's portrait is the closest of all of them to what I was picturing in my head. I think Temmin's would be 2nd, if I could keep how young he is in my head and stop picturing him older. And I can't look at the Teacher without seeing Malfoy. Damn that JK
(note: I'm not complaining about the artwork. They are all beautiful and well-rendered. Just throwing in my tuppence, I suppose)
