My ad budget is dwindling and I need to make every dollar count. Do you have suggestions for where I should advertise to find likely suckers, I mean, readers?
I currently advertise at Phoenix Requiem (a good source of traffic, but I don't know how well the visitors "stick"), ToMU, Buzzcomix, occasionally at Flipside, Slipshine, Errant Story, Blipcomic and Two Rooks currently, all of them off and on.

Comics I Read
I read Phoenix Requiem, Flipside, Girl Genius, Questionable Content, Least I Could Do, and about 12 others. Perhaps you should have a forum just asking what comics and webnovels your "stickers" read and then you would have a better idea what stuff your fanbase likes and where they come from.
Ad + friendly recommendation
Although I read Phoenix Requiem and Flipside, it was on SPQR Blues that I saw your ad. Klio also mentioned this project during the course of one of our conversations (she's a friend of mine) and since I trust her good judgment on these sorts of things, I came to check it out!
ToMU
is where I came from, if that's helpful.
ditto ToMU
That's where I first found a link to your work. It might be worthwhile to advertise on the other serial novel sites out there (the only I've found are from pages unbound so I don't have any fresh suggestions there).
Jackbook.com has around 32 unique visitors / day, and only $2
I think you could see the Jackbook.com Project Wonderful Page here, so you can see their traffic stat live

I read...
I read ToMU and that's where I found the link. I also read Errant Story, Questionable Content, and Girl Genius. Just to name a few. I've been lurking for about a month and just can't wait for the next post!!
Questionable Content,
Questionable Content, Something Positive, Devil's Panties (if you can), Alisiyad, Dead End Streets, Mirrorheart/Mirrorfall, WinterRain
To followup. Mirrorheart
To followup. Mirrorheart hasn't gone above $0.40 in the last 30 days for price on Project Wonderful. Unique visitors per day are generally around 100, depending upon update status (which has been slow lately)/
Dead End Streets has not gone above $0.12 with an average of 100 daily unique views but with peaks up to 400 and has a more regular update schedule so you could place your add on update days.
Alisiyad has not been updating lately and its ad location is kind of out of the way. The highest bid there has been $0.50. Unique daily pageviews generally between 100 and 200 a day. Again, not really updating regularly though so hits are low.
Devil's Panties has a max of $18 for adds in the last 30 days but gets an average of 30 to 50 thousand unique hits daily. Current add bid is $10 and the ad is fairly predominantly displayed.
Something Positive is expensive, but its worth even a few minutes of ad at peak times. Bids as high as $80 and as low as $30. Minimum of 74 thousand unique hits a day. It ranges between 74k to 132k. Ad is VERY predominantly displayed.
Looks like Winter's Rain has no ad space currently.
You might encourage your readers to review this story at webfictionguide.com where you currently have 7 reviews or at Pages Unbound where you have 26 reviews.
Hope my input is helpful.
Like others have said, I also
Like others have said, I also read Questionable Content and Girl Genius... Thought it could help, if many people here read them, perhaps many people outside of here do that too
Good luck
I saw
I saw the link at Errant Story and Phoenix Requiem, but I don't remember which one I clicked through from. I think the multiple exposures at sites I really liked made me curious enough to actually follow the link (which doesn't help the advertising budget, I realize). As for people sticking, it really helped to see such an active community and so much archive that I could get completely hooked.
I read Errant Story and, less
I read Errant Story and, less frequently, Phoenix Requiem. I found this site last week, and I think I came from Phoenix Requiem. For what that's worth.
I first followed the link
I first followed the link from ToMU, and still see your banners there on a regular basis. Ditto for Phoenix Requiem. I'm also an avid follower of Girl Genius. (Three cheers for Studio Foglio and women with hips!)
Comics like Penny & Aggie and Menage a 3 probably have similar audiences, but both of those are hosted at KeenSpot. I've never seen a Project Wonderful banner on either site.
I came over from Tales of MU.
I came over from Tales of MU. I found out about ToMU from Shortpacked!, part of the Blank Label group, so maybe a good place for you? They have a project wonderful ad that is about 16 by the popular blog and it updates 5 days a week.
I like the suggestion of finding out what your readers like. I read a ton of different webcomics. I read Templar, Arizona; The Non-Adventures of Wonderella, Geek Tragedy, Evil Inc., Looking for Group, Geek Tragedy, Weregeek, InkTank, Brat-halla, PvP and Penny Arcade.
Punch an' Pie perhaps?
Punch an' Pie perhaps?
Pn'P
is really expensive. I think it's 20 bucks a day no matter how many clicks you get.
I came here from bpal.org so
I came here from bpal.org so I guess I'm atypical. However, you didn't have to pay for it!
ToMu also...
I think length of display is more important than just one ad for a day on numerous sites; I saw your ad at ToMu for days, and only after I'd seen it for maybe three or four updates running did I actually click over, even though I thought it was interesting.
This is a good point and is
This is a good point and is actually what made me click on the ad. I was interested at first, but not super curious until I had seen the ad multiple days.
I read ToMu, Questionable
I read ToMu, Questionable Content, Penny & Aggie, S*P, Scary Go Round, Red String, Gunnerkrigg Court and Multiplex. P&A has a lot of fantasy fans on the forums, Red String's a romance comic, and Gunnerkrigg Court has a lot of magic stuffed in, so those would be my bets in addition to what's already been suggested.
Thanks you guys!
Some of these sites I can't advertise on--Red String, for instance. I so love that comic, and so does No1 Daughter; a couple of days ago she came storming out of her room yelling "OMG MOM!! YOU HAVE TO GO TO RED STRING LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!" Those of you who follow the comic know why.
And I can't advertise on Girl Genius, either. Why? The story is NSFW, and both have NSFW ads blocked. le sigh.
Anyway, it's time to resurrect the ol' "where did you come from" poll. Thanks again, folks, lots of good info here.
WTFOMG?
I find this news about Red String's ad filtering to be hilarious because of the timing.
Heh heh heh ...
Although, to be fair, despite the most recent content, it's still pretty PG rated ...
But you're right - it does seem ironic!
Oddfish mentioned
Penny&Aggie. I'm not sure if you've looked into advertising with them at all, but it might also be a decent fit. The comic itself, as well as two of the Artist's/Writer's projects that are advertised on the main page, definitely ebbs into racy territory on occasion, while still having an engaging story.
It's tragic that you can't advertise through Girl Genius, but I can sympathise with their policy of "we don't want to be reading angry correspondence that we're not directly responsible for," especially when they sell their Xenophile comics through the site.
WHAT?!
Wait--they sell Xenophile at GG and I can't advertise there?! I look like Dick and Jane next to Xenophile! WTF, Phil!! Seriously! Dang, I'm gonna hafta write those two, that's just so...I mean geez!
Because I have SO WANTED to buy space on GG. "Nize hat!" is like a thing around here.
Aliens, bosoms, etc.
Yeah, I was thinking of the P&A forum-goers when I mentioned it-- a lot of them would really dig on this, I think-- but now that Yeti mentions it, some of the creators' other comics share themes with this story. Cool Cat Studio, which is no longer running, has a heavy dose of magic and a healthy helping of sex. Menage a 3, which is still running, definitely foots the bill when it comes to naughty bits, though it's a lighter comic and does more gags than Serious Plot (It's young yet, though). Plus T and Gisele strike me as really decent people who would be great to work with, so it seems like a solid thing.
'Nother MUnkey
I found this through the MU sites, also read Something Positive, Girls With Slingshots(hsyterical if you've never read it), Wapsi Square, and Khaos. You might try the last three, I haven't seen anyone else mention them. Khaos is sorta "coming out stories" and rather NSFW itself. Girls With Slingshots is slice-of-life/looking-for-love/Drinking! comic, also not afraid to swear/ have adult situations.
Not know what to sugest otherwise, except it seems to me like advertising on other web-serials might go further. People coming over from comic-sites might look thinking it's a comic then wander off when they realise it involves heavy reading.
Oh! And Dominic Deegan:Oracle for hire! It's fantasy/love and lots and lots of terrible puns. Updates 7days a week and has been running for years and years.
I love Girls with Slingshots
It's funny and shameless, and Danielle really has the eye of a photographer. Many of her panels will just randomly have an awesome perspective or framing that adds a level of class you're not expecting.
Take the poll!
It's here and also to the right. Thanks!
MeiLin Said: Wait--they sell

So, um, does that mean Xenophile is more like Dick in Jane?
What?
I think I actually found your
I think I actually found your ad through some random website. BUT since then, I've seen it at Flipside. I also visit slipshine on occasion. I also think Penny and Aggie or Menage a trois would be a good place to put some ads. I saw Wapsi Square and Khaos Komix above, and I'd agree with that too. everyone suggested all the good stuff before I could.
I think DeviantArt would also be a good place? I would imagine it's expensive though. it IS a haven for alternative sexuality and artsy types, as well as anthros, RPers, and philosopher-types that would welcome the reading.
something positive
something positive
$.02
I've only seen your ads at ToMU, but I also read... Dominic Deegan, Wapsi Square, User Friendly, and QC on a daily basis.
Mill Avenue Vexations
http://www.millvexations.com/
Go take a look. It's a series of conventional web-published stories, and right now it's one of those Project Wonderful penny bargains. I think she updates with new episodes in the fall/winter timeframe, which would bring a surge of new readers. Plus, she's recently been advertising places like Aliysiad and Webfictionguide, so readers who click her links and like it might click yours
Hmm, I should go plug her story in the forums or something.
*edit* I did, http://www.meilinmiranda.com/node/540 */edit*
I second that emotion...
I came from ToMU, but I found ToMU through SomethingPositive. It took me several times of seeing both ads before I finally clicked. And I have never been happier!
Also, I second Khaos Komix, Wpais Square, Girl Genius, Menage a 3, and Penny and Aggie.
Good luck!!!!
another from ToMU
thought I haven't been back there since I found this. I'm bad at falling behind on everything else while I catch up on an archive.
Lesse...I do (err...read) Girly, Anders Loves Maria, Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, Questionable Content, Misfile, Flaky Pastry...and I'm hopelessly devoted to Jump Leads over on Soul Geek. I dunno anything about numbers and policies and advertising and all that wonk, but it do seem that maybe you and Soul Geek might be a good fit?
No love from Soul Geek
Went to check out their ad policies and they won't accept NSFW, so I'm SOL.
well
poop
They don't have an option for polyfolk, either (at least they didn't when I signed up however long ago). Not really related except that it's another disappointment.
