Paid gig update

One more week, guys. One more week. I'm going to do one more week of once-a-week updates and then I'll be back to the usual. I am trying to put this thing to bed. It's crunch week.

To tide you over, Alice is really close to finishing the portrait of the twins. I am being ultra-picky with Allis, and Alice is being very patient with me. Smiling They're in Temple garb, though at some point I want a picture of them in formal attire, perhaps the outfits they're wearing when they first meet Temmin.

But next, after the twins, is Sedra. I'm compiling the description for Alice now. Any requests for her outfit?

I'd love to see something

I'd love to see something black/dark.

Like what she mentioned wanting to wear in the most recent chapter.

But I think whatever Sedra thinks she is prettiest in will do just fine.

gig help

The best thing you can do to help me with this gig is help me make sure I never have to take another one. Laughing out loud That means kicking a dollar in when you can, and doing everything you can think of to tell people about the story. And I mean everything. I have to grow the audience. When we reach critical mass, I won't have to take outside gigs to pay the bills. I can stay here and write for all y'all, which is my vast preference.

I so love this character... you might have noticed... Eye-wink
I vote for Tremontine red, some kind of properly Princess Royal type of outfit. But not too fussy or frilly, she's a princess to be sure, but not your fluffy Disneyesque sings-to-birds kind of princess. I'd like to see her in some sort of really wonderous court-dress done by somebody better at clothes than I am. Sad
Or the blue she's wearing for this upcoming ball, I like blue(quite a lot) and roses are among my favorite flowers.

I would like to see her in something she is most comfortable in, but one day I would like to see what Sedra, and her dresses, look like when she's in love. ^_^

riding gown?

I'd like to see Sedra in a riding outfit. I was going to say the courtdress described in chapter 27, but the flowers won't do for an official portrait. And riding dress flew off my fingers before I knew it...I think because she'd wear a very severely cut, practical gown for riding but made from rich fabrics and that suits her personality. Or something.

walking outfit

First of all, I am sorry that being shy means that I don't contribute to this community or share my great regard and respect for the work MeiLin does. *Thanks* However, apparently there is something about this topic that brings me temporarily out of my shell.

I think it would be interesting to see the walking outfit she wears to meet Connin. What does Sedra look like when she cares about the person who will see her (even though she can't control it too much without alerting Camma) and in an outfit she would find comfortable? I have to say though, I'd rather not see her wearing the bonnet because it would hide her hair and face.

The outfit I finally chose

I chose the Tremontine red ballgown she wears way back at the beginning of book 1. She had the roses in her hair that night, so rose fans, rejoice. Eventually when we're through with the first set of characters, I want to go back and get one of Sedra in her walking clothes, which are really more to her taste than ballgowns. But I wanted her first character study to be in full Princess Royal regalia.

The next question is, what do I choose for Ellika! Talk about an embarrassment of riches. I was thinking perhaps her pink and white stripe with the centerpiece hat. Smiling

Twins

Since I couldn't comment on the actual sketch of the twins, and they were mentioned here: close, but not right indeed. I always pictured Allis as looking like Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara, but a bit sweeter. Issak would, of course, be much the same, but a little manlier and maybe a little more mischievous or stern.

As far as Ellika's concerned, I'd almost prefer something sans hat, to get a better view of her face. But then again, Elly's all about accessorizing and being drowned in fripperies, so that would give a pretty good sense of her too.
