Newbie here.

Newbie to having an account at least. I've read everything but the newest chapter so far.
I'm horrible at introductions, so I'll just say I'm 29, a guy, on the east coast (ish), another WoW player, a computer tech and a musician with degrees in both. I'm pretty open, so if someone wants to ask something, feel free.

Welcome
I'm a WoW basher myself. But aside from that, which of the degrees do you use more?

Mm, well, my first was in computer science. I very rarely program, so I guess I use my music degree more, although at a semi-pro level, not as a living. What I tend to use day to day in a professional setting are my technical certifications (A+, Network+, MCP).

Welcome!
That's a nice multidisciplinary combo! I think computer science degrees sometimes have the most long term 'use' not necessarily in direct professional application, but more because of the way you learn to solve problems. I think it's very cool that you're involved in both fields. Did you specialise in a specific instrument, or are you more of a theory geek?

We all had to specialize in a specific instrument. I guess you could do more than one if you were insane (which I am, but not that insane). Trombone was my major instrument, but I also play piano, guitar, and other things with varying degrees of ability.

What instruments do you favor? I played the trumpet back in high school, but I'm afraid I haven't touched it for years

Inquiring minds want to know.
Inquiring minds want to know. I played way too many years of piano, trombone, and things involving singing.... and spent less time among other instruments.

Being another half-breed computer geek, I sympathize/applaud. Do you do freelance computer work, or do you prefer staying with a firm?

I do very little freelance
I do very little freelance work on the side, but I work full time at a bank--luckily, one that's not in trouble. I really prefer it that way because taxes, health benefits, vacation days, and so on are just so much easier to deal with when you're an employee.

I'm brand new to commenting
I'm brand new to commenting here, but been reading for a month plus some change (didn't want to make a whole new thread, so I'm using this one). I'm in the U.S. Navy, I'm a guy, I'm east coast for now, I'm a huge nerd/geek (but in the closet about it when with most people). My job is to make the ships go forward and backward as necessary (or at least it will be when I finish training).
Besides that I don't know what else to tell.

It didn't happen when I posted, but I got it when I edited. It seems to save just fine, but I have to navigate back to the site on my own.
Editted to test, happened again. Post was fine, but saving tosses

Another Miniature Wargame
Another Miniature Wargame player!
YAY!
I play Warmachine more then I play WH40K but I do have a fully painted DE army. Of course I am boycotting GW at this point due to their sloppy rules writing.
Flames of War is great too.
See? Geek happens!
