Things are a little quiet

But I know I like to read, even when I don't say anything- even when it's silly. Smile

So here's a little silly happiness.

After a year of feeling very undesirable and single, last Saturday I started a something with a boy. Biggrin I'm not sure what we started, probably just friends who sometimes have sex (which is totally good with me), but it's still exciting.

He's very cute, and makes truly wicked jokes. Smile Also he has a sweet British accent (which I am very into, as I'm sure you've noticed) and yeah so, happiness, right?

It also sort of inspired me to start writing again, another thing that had drifted by the wayside recently. (If y'all'd like to read it, http://mith-tidbits.blogspot.com/2010/03/adventures-with-couch-surfing.html it's a little silly, and very short. Or very silly and a little short?)

How is everyone else doing?

It's hard to see things dwindle here. Many of my ad spots go empty, few people read Scryer's Gulch, fewer people still comment on it. I'm no longer in the top ten at TopWebFiction, despite having dominated it for months.

On the plus side, I've made some serious breakthroughs on the History. So I'm going to focus on that.

Bawls. You mean the voting for that is still going?

It's a daily zeitgeist, as it were, of the web literature community. Your vote expires every 24 hours and must be renewed. I'm pushing to finish the book, and so haven't done much "incentive" writing this month.

that things were quiet. I was gonna post some really randomness but I forgot. I'm glad to hear that you've met a boy, even better a boy with a British accent. Accents make me melt!

I leave for England two weeks from today! That's what's going on with me. That, and trying to write the proposal for my thesis, which is due the day I arrive in England, but here in the states.

Exciting! Are you already all packed and ready to go? Wink For my big trips I end up being ready to leave like a full 10 days before the trip... Yeah, it's a little sad.

I actually don't even have the suitcases I'm going to use yet. They're at my aunt's house almost 3 hours away.

I think my problem is just that I've been waiting so long, it doesn't seem real. I've been putzing around since mid-December doing a whole lot of NOTHING, so it's hard to believe that change actually even exists. I am going to write up my list of necessities to pack in the next day or so, though.

They might not seem like necessities- but warm, comfy, ugly pants are totally necessary. I thought "Oh, no, shouldn't bring them- I'll always want to look nice/presentable..."

Lies.

I miss my fleece pants so much... Sad

... from a one-week business trip that started, and ended, with a transcontinental overnight flight. And man, those suck! I'm still recovering from the resulting sleep deficit as well as the stiff and kinked muscles all over my body.

In other news, congrats for the something with the boy, Mith! Biggrin
