Question for Sir:

and I'm sorry, it's not a sexual topic (well, maybe tangentially): Do all the downtown ladies call you treetop lover?

I thought of that earlier today, and now I can't get it out of my head >.

Most High

3In the days before seat belt laws and common sense, I would be laying in the very back of my parent's Datsun B210 station wagon, sweating, while the clouds in the sky would try to move faster than my desire to leave that place. It was a race, and I would always win. This was the song that played often on the oldies station.

I remember this song as the soundtrack to those drives.

I remember...

oh, and its Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown, for those who don't remember, or for whom Jim Croce is an unknown.

Wow thats funny. My first car was a 1979 Datsun B210, I loved that thing.

That was a bit obscure. I know the song and I didn't even make the connection.

Well the south side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
All the downtown ladies call him Treetop Lover
All the mens just call him Sir

I never really thought of it as obscure. It's a good bit older than I am, but I heard it a lot growing up. In retrospect: that's probably because it's a good intermediate piano piece, so I heard my mom practicing/playing it. Good song, tho...timeless.
