D&D Campaign via Google Wave--who's in?

OK, you guys, I am NOT a DM, so we'll need someone to step up for that, but I'm all for trying to get a campaign going on Google Wave. Three-point-five seems to be the favored edition. And, uh, we should probably research how other folks are doing it on Google Wave.

If you need an invite, I've still got a few.

That would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about joining though, we only have (not enough) solar power in the dark time of year so computer time is at a premium. I hope to do some D&D in real life soon, it's hard to get everyone together though...

I don't have google wave though.

Ah same. I haven't played dnd in forever Smile

Not so talented as a DM, though...

There are two different notions (I think) on googlewave playing.
One involves a scheduled time to play, and the other involves using it for a sort of play-by-post schtick.

I'm up for it.

I'm also casting my vote for Pathfinder (a 3.5 variant) if anybody cares.

You *might* be able to talk me into DMing.

I've paged through some Pathfinder. It's solid. I like that every level actually means something. Plus, it reduces (I gather) some of the class-to-class imbalances.

Oooh, Pathfinder!

After playing 3e & 3.5 for years, we're starting on a PF weekend game. It buffs up the core classes to balance with the splat book variants, and simplifies many skill rolls and maneuvers.

I've never done an online game of this type before, and I have no clue about Google wave. Must do a bit of research...

Not sure about DMing because I've probably got an irl game to run. Feel free to PM me if you need a wave invite - I've got a few.

I was a DM for a couple of years, but this was some time ago and I may have been a child at the time.

Would love to play. I think I could DM. :nerd:

I'd be game, but I don't have Google Wave, unfortunately.

I've also DM'd, but I'm not much on making up a story on my own. I usually run published adventures. I've done short one-offs and HUGE ones that would take a couple years real-time to finish.

But, I'd play, too, so long as nobody tried to make Pun-Pun. Blum 3

I'd love to join in a D&D game over Wave. I've also go a bunch (17, at the moment) of Wave invites. Toss me an email/IM at morineko@gmail.com if you need one.

I am a pnp noob for the most part, but I am pretty familiar with the rule set and have done play by post of DnD and pnp of other games, so I should be okay.

Emailing Mori for a wave invite now. Smile

I'm totally in, but I've not heard of wave like most everyone else.

Google Wave is a new concept that kind of merges an email with a forum or bulletin board thread. It also has some nifty but useless features, such as being able to see other people typing in real time. Essentially when you send someone a wave that creates a document that all people in the wave of you can add to and edit at any point. It's in beta right now and there's definitely some kinks to work out (For instance, Waves loading gets kind of bogged down if there's a lot of people writing a lot of things, or if you use a lot of embedded widgets in the wave)

I also have some spare Wave invites so if any one messages me with their email I can invite them. (Might not get back to you fast though)

I probably won't get involved in a D&D game, but I seem to have a bunch of Wave invites lying around (25 I think?) and most of my friends seem to have it already. So PM if you'd like an invite, I have plenty Smile

Now that we (hopefully) all have Wave. We should swap info and get this thing organized. Blum 3

Feel free to add me - maybe we can start a 'intro' wave with contact info and forum names so that once you've been invited to that one, you can add the rest of the people.

Shall we private message our Wave emails back and forth? Don't really want my own visible in a spambot-visible form...

I've set my wave status to my forum name so as you know it's me.

I'm sure we're mostly suited and booted by now, but I also have a few Wave invites if anyone is late to the party. Send me a direct message from my profile page.

So, found that google wave is not something I can access from work and I haven't heard anything back since I tried to set up an account. Used my everyday email and I know that the Livestock Minister at least knows it.

See, I'm kinda silly because I forgot I had that info already. *Now* I've sent you an invite! Although sometimes it takes a day or two for Google to notify you of it.

...PM me. I don't want my real name on the forum, though I don't care if people know who I am.

Has discussion moved to Wave?

There is a wave. If you add someone to your wave contacts then they can bring you into it. Currently, TheBoy, Mith, Mori, Laureril, Mei and I are participating. I'm PMing you my wave contact; add me and ping me and I'll bring you in.

He seems to have gone idle for the holidays, if anybody else involved can PM me their wave info I'll get on quicker, otherwise I'll be on when he is.

I've signed up for a separate googlewave acc't for this: theboymlm
