Since a few forumites seem to enjoy contra dancing, I did a little research and found a major folk dancing festival April 23-25 in Mansfield, Mass. What do y'all think?
I've never contra danced before but it seems nice and historic and right up IHoTGK's alley. There also might be festivals a bit more centrally located, but this seems to be a big one.

too much to do before end of 2009. 2010 does not yet compute.
Solution: reboot. Bump thread after new year's eve.
(in other words, I'm silly-tired and can't make plans that far out. Also, I don't qualify for their young adult discount anymore and this makes me feel more mature than I want to be).

I'm interested, but re-post this 2-3 months ahead of time, so I have time to get it on my calendar, but not so early that I'll forget. And...great idea! Should be fun

I knew that if I didn't post it now I'd forget all about it. Now we have several people who might remember to bump it in January or something And for all those folks who always get left out because they live in the middle of a big expanse of nothing in the midwest...well, you planned your vacation yet this year? There's other stuff in New England you could go see if you wanted to take a full week or something. Heck, you'd probably even have free guides if you wanted. Possibly room and board!

I had to look up contra dancing. I'm not really a fan of dancing, but it looks like there's other stuff at the festival, and I might be persuaded to try the dancing out if you can find a way to get me a little inebriated beforehand.

At first I was all "error, does not compute" with Capriox, but then I remembered that I already have plans for that part of 2010: finals week. X_X But after May 3rd I should be totally free of obligation for a few months, so mebe we can do some sort of meet-up soon after this one.

Come to think of it, that's probably stressful for a lot of the college folks. But just name a different time, place, and notional activity (which could be something as complicated as "Dinner at this good local restaurant") and see who responds. You only need to float ideas out there and see if anyone bites. I was shocked at the response WCW got
