A possible money-raiser?
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I found a cameo of a white horse's head against a black background. I promptly found a setting for it, and I now have them both in hand, ready to assemble into a Whithorse brooch. Because, sadly, I am my own fangirl.
Thing is, they sent me two cameos; apparently it was a set, and I didn't know it. So now I have this second cameo. And I'm thinking, hm. Wonder if anyone here would like such a thing, and if I could use it to fundraise a little.
Would anyone? Bidding war? or forget about it? It's just a little acrylic cameo, nothing special, but it would be a Whithorse brooch made by yrs trly.

oh, this isn't the official crest
The official crest is a white horse rampant, no bridle or saddle, but I don't have the whole coat of arms worked out. It should include at least some element in the royal colors of Tremontine red and gold, or the three mountains--some reference to the Whithorse connection to the royal family. I haven't even worked out the Whithorse colors yet, except for white. Possibly white and green, for the grasslands, with gold for the royal family. Input welcome.
Colors
I was actually just heading to the site to ask about colors. I was thinking about thinning out my scrap-fabric stash ('cause it's huge) by making some kanzashi. I have plenty of red and gold, so I was thinking about making some flowery Tremont hair pins and brooches and whatever. But then I wondered, maybe I could come up with some Whithorse, Leutefloss, Inchar, etc....

if you go green, white, and gold, you're going to make Whithorse look very Irish. I'm not sure if that's what you're going for, and it might be, but that's what it's going to make me think.

My thought
Offer it in a silent secret auction where those who are interested send you private emails with their bids. Winning bid get the cameo. Either for them-self or for a gift. By keeping it silent & the bids private no one feels like they have to bid to out do anyone else & they can honestly offer what they can honestly afford & not feel the urge to get into a full scale bidding war. Maybe even offer up stuff to those who come in second & third in the bidding.
Simply post a pic when it's ready, tell us when bidding opens & when it starts & the exact subject header to use when sending you the private emails.

If you get official pictures of each crest, you could do a section in Gallery for them and put them on the book cover/spines.
