Hey, I'm BCT. I'm finishing up my freshman year of college, I'm pre-med and an Anthropology major and East Asian Studies minor.
Oh my God, I've been at college way the fuck too long. Let's try that again.
Hi, I'm BCT. I came over from Tales of MU. I like crafting and techno music, and spend way too much time on the internet. I also tend to swear a whole fucking lot.
I'm enjoying An Intimate History immensely. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. ^-^

Never heard
of crafting music. Where would I be able to d/l some samples? Also, since I didn't make it past year 2 in college (no major BTW) what is Anthropology?
D
My alignment is Chaotic Awesome.
anthropology
Cobbled from the Greek:
Anthropo = man
-ology = study of
ipso facto, "study of man." Has to do with the study of human cultures, generally speaking.

Different Disciplines
Sorry to disappoint, my musical ability is limited to enjoyment of such.
As to crafting, I'm rather an amateur. I've got my Generation T book, a sewing kit, a $20 sewing machine from Walgreens, and a whooole bunch of t-shirts.
I share enjoying music and crafting as my hobbies because they're not nearly as embarrassing as saying "spending too much time on the internet."
I cooked and baked quite a bit before I went to Collegeland, and I'll pick it up again during the summer.
Now that I think about it, I'm also in the comic book club and Medieval society on campus, so maybe I'm not as boring as I thought! Just geeky.
Anthropology is the study of different cultures around the world. I'm particularly interested in ritual, and even more interested in Japanese culture.

Mutual Interests!
Hi BCT, and doozo yoroshiku!
I happened to notice your comment and wanted to reply, as I am quite involved in ritual-craft and am a Nihon-suki-nin as well! (Please pardon my cobbling together of that pseudo-Japanese phrase.) I also sew a little bita and bake pretty well. If you'd like to converse further about any of these do please drop me a line some time!
Light and laughter,

Hajimemashite! It seems we have very similar interests!
I've noticed a prevalence of geeky craftsters (or crafty geeks?) in the Greater Kingdom.
Also: Mmm, cobbler.... I could go for some cobbler.

Personally
I think crafty geeks sounds better. Speaking of crafting, I need to brush off photoshop and start making fanart of the characters. Thanks for reminding me.
photoshop
I'm attempting the Teacher, but I'm brand new to photoshop (and I can't make his eyes even, darn it!).

I'm better at mixing pictures
I'm better at mixing pictures together than I am at drawing them from scratch. Teacher is the one who I decided that I need to bust out PS for. Now if only I could find that description....
Teacher is at
the intersection of David Bowie and Tilda Swinton, leaning toward the latter, though the hair is darker and sleeker.
ETA: Cool gray eyes, iron-colored hair pulled back in a tail at the neck with a Tremontine red ribbon, sensual mouth, aristocratic bones. Pale, smooth skin, no facial hair, occasionally affecting pince nez but mostly for the intimidation factor; they're not needed to see. Severe black suit, white shirt, Tremontine red cravat. I think Teacher's first appearance in chapter 5 or 6 goes over appearance, and the characters page should go over it too.

Ah, thankee. I was trying to
Ah, thankee. I was trying to remember the acting talent we had discussed, and was too lazy/busy to go back through the hundred or so comments to find it. Hmmm. Now to find pics of Bowie and Swinton in nearly identical poses, and find the hair and clothing I need.
That's about how I pictured Teacher, only...
I see him with a neatly-trimmed goatee.

nope
trust me.

Oh...
I won't say on open comments the theory you just planted in my head, MeiLin!! Time will tell if I'm right but if I am... well, I've written enough not to do that to a fellow writer.
"Iron-colored hair"
For some reason, the first time I read "iron-colored" I misread it, don't ask me how, and now I see Teacher with silver-gray hair. *shrug* I also see Caitlin from A Song of Ice and Fire as a blonde, even though her hair is expressly given as auburn. Go figure.
