Spread the "Intimate History"!

The more y'all help spread the word about "Intimate History," the less I have to--and the more time I have for writing! In addition to below, check out the marketing challenges! They cost you nothing and earn us extra chapters.

Wear Swag!

Lovers' Temple tees! Warrior's Temple tees! Subtext tees! It's all happening at SpreadShirt. (Yes, AA shirts!) Also! Pictures of you in your swag gain you 10 points!

Donate your status

Thanks to Paisleigh for this great idea: When a new chapter goes up, update your status on Facebook and MySpace to show you're reading the new chapter.

Re-tweet me!

Are you on Twitter? Are you following me? Awesome! Then whenever I announce a new chapter or bonus, re-tweet me! Smiling

Bookmark the History!

Bookmark the History at:

Review it at Web Fiction Guide, Goodreads, Pages Unbound and Muses Success!

And if you don't know about it, they're great resources for novels like this one!

Just tell your friends!

Word of mouth--via blog, via email, however--is one of the best ways to share the love. And let's face it. It's way more fun to have someone else to talk to about an awesome story. Smiling And now you can even earn points for doing it! For every one of your friends who signs up for an account here with your referral link, you earn five points. Go to your account page and scroll down until you see "Your referral link." See that URL? That's your referral link. Send that to your friends and if they sign up for accounts you earn five points.

Banners, Buttons and Icons

Please take copies of these graphics, don't hotlink!

Link them to:

http://www.meilinmiranda.com/
To take a copy of a banner yourself: The easiest way to do this is to right-click the banner (control-click on Mac); a menu should come up, and one of the choices will be to copy the graphic. Do that. "Hotlinking" means to use MY copy of the banner on my machine. Please don't do that. If a whole bunch of people do it, it'll overwhelm my server.

Please credit/lj-link to meilin_miranda.

put it on MySpace

I put a link on my profile, as well as in a blog. Not sure how many will see it, but it is there:
http://www.myspace.com/blwinteler
It is under "books" in my profile.
I've also emailed a few people.

Oops

I linked to your site on a private forum because I thought some of the ladies there would enjoy the story. Apparently you tried to sign up for the site, but you were rejected for membership because no one else there knows you! It's just a cozy spot on the web for a few people who met at a different site, so having a stranger try to sign up threw the others into a bit of a tizzy. But I realize you couldn't have known that, so I apologize for what may have been a confusing experience!

I thought Temmin had a beard...?

But he doesn't in these pictures.

no chin whiskers

The character study is as he is when he is newly arrived at the Keep. His chin whiskers haven't filled in yet. He still doesn't have much in the way of chin whiskers, but it's only been a couple of months. Next year his time he'll have a more full beard--now it's mostly chops.

odd suggestion

a lot of these use the same/similar words in different order
(sex magic intrigue) vs (magic intrigue sex) e.g.,

or the same character and a different trio (temmin, e.g.)

That may be suboptimal--idunno much about web-marketing, or marketing in general.
In my field, we try to push the same message/theme/language consistently.
Doing the same here might focus your message a bit--especially where you use similar but not-the-same words (naive v. innocent, e.g., for Temmin).

It's supposed to be a challenge, that's why they call it a shortcut. If it was easy it would just be the way.

Another idea

I wandered here in search of MLM gear for the webcam bonus points. You might as well link to the swag up top as a means to promote, as well...the more crosslinks to things that make you $$, the better Smiling

Wow! Sarcasm! That's original!

Ha!

I hadn't seen the one with Temmin and his lovers before - hilarious.

Also - idea from it being 2 a.m. and misinterpreting the word 'button'.

Would home-printed buttons from these images (the sort people stick on messenger bags and the like) be something you would rather have us not make?

as long as they're not for sale

that's my big one. Please don't make anything for sale out of anything here, print, images, etc.

Credit?

There was no listing for the History on Technorati, so I added you to my favorites there. Hopefully that will generate some interest. The question I have is: How do you know when we've done something like that? Or SU'd it?

I don't think you're crazy. I think you're colorful. The kind of colorful that does well with medication!

I can't trace it to the individual unless you tell me

But Technorati hits and StumbleUpon hits show up in my stats. Thanks!

SU isn't working

right now, at least I can't get it to. I did add you to Technorati, and reviewed on Goodreads (I suck, but I tried). I've also sent the link on to a few friends...and then had to resend it because I forgot to use my referral link. *doh* This is what happens when I all of a sudden get a wild hair - I go off without thinking clearly. thank you so much!

Word of mouth is the best advertising I can get! It's free, and heartfelt, and I don't know which aspect is more important.

If all of you would take a moment and use the AddThis button at the very top right hand of the page (on the main theme; if you're using Minnelli, it's to the left under the donation block), it would be AWESOME.

The AddThis button says SHARE on it; you can use it to add it to your bookmarks, send the URL in email to someone, add it to StumbleUpon, Technorati, Delicious and several other services. PLEASE take a moment and do this. Thank you!

Meilin theme

I can't find the "add this" on the Meilin theme. I switched to Minelli to find it, but I prefer the MeiLin theme over the others. Smiling Is it there and I'm just not finding it, or does it not exist?
